Varicose veins surgery of lower limbs using cryosurgery
(freezing and removal of the veins in the temperature of – 90 degrees of Celsius)

Cryosurgery (the removal of damaged varicose veins in the low temperature). The treatment is conducted under local anaesthesia, with no hospital stay and with minimal operative trauma. The procedure of the surgery involves the removal of varicose veins that were frozen beforehand. Varicose veins were frozen in the temperature of – 90 degrees of Celsius, using special equipment called cryoprobe with the diameter of  2-3 mm. This technique involves removing a lot of varicose veins from the single skin’s incision in a minimally invasive way.

The advantages of the treatment are:
small skin’s incision, short time of the treatment, local anaesthesia.

Cryosurgery is an alternative method of treating varicose veins to laser removal of varicose veins and to traditional stripping.

Varicose veins tend to return after operations,
hence two conditions must be fulfilled to make the treatment effective.
First of all, edema-protective agents must be regularly taken. The medicines
strengthen the vessel walls and improve functioning of venous circulation.
Second of all, compression therapy must be introduced and obeyed
(wearing supporting tights, compression stockings etc.)
